I have a fairly robust network setup including a rack with several servers for which I utilize port forwarding fairly heavily configured through my Verizon Router (MI424WR). I also have a multi-room DVR and access to VOD. Over the last year or so we have been having issues with the VOD and DVR access. Any time I play anything via VOD the image sporadically pixelates and the sounds gets messed up. The same goes for any DVR content when viewed on any receiver besides the actual DVR. This is a MOCHA network issue so today Verizon came out and the only way they were able to fix it is with a full factory reset of the router which wiped out all my port forwarding. My question is WHY would port fowarding mess up the MOCHA network? Are there ports combinations i should be avoiding? Is UDP an issue and i should only utilize TCP (i know the verizon boxes utilize UDP)? Any help is appreciated!
