How do I add an (Linksys) AC1900 router to Verizon Actiontec MI424WR Router

The new AC 1900 router currently provides the largest wireless area for your wireless needs. But I need help figuring out how to connect it to the verizon Actiontec MI424WR wireless router. I followed the forum "Can I use my wireless or an extra router along with the Verizon provided router?" and had no success.

Hope this this helps.

First make sure that you have your Linksys set-up as an Access Point / Bridge before connecting to Actiontech Router.

You can do this in a few ways.

To set up your new router as an access point:

1. 1.Use a network cable to connect this router’s Internet port to the Ethernet
   or LAN port on the router that is connected to your modem.
2. 2.Log into Linksys Smart Wi-Fi. (See “How to connect to Linksys Smart Wi-
   Fi” on page 7.
3. 3.Under Router Settings, click Connectivity, then click the Internet
   Settings tab.
4. 4.Click IPv4.
5. 5.For Type of Internet Connection, select Bridge Mode.

Click Obtain an IPv4 address automatically, then click OK. The new router’s LAN IP address will be changed and obtained from the router that is connected to your modem.

This will allow you for your on demand, guide and ect feaures still work with your boxes and get the best wireless with your linksys.

Btw I'm using ASUS N900 Router getting speeds of 135MBPS over wireless its sick. So i can only imagine what you will get with the AC technology.
