Hello everyone, figured I'd make a post here about a recent issue that started happening the past 3-4 hours. I have Actiontec mi424wr router and have had it since I got FIOS a little over two years ago. Now up until tonight save for three times, I never had issues with the internet not working. It always worked, had good connection both via the ethernet and WIFI. Tonight however ha become a different story.
About 3 and a half hours ago I suddenly lost connectivity from my computer here, the connection just dropped out, the first thing I did was shut down firefox and reload it, still nothing, I proceeded to try to log into the routers page and that wouldn't even load whatsoever.
I went downstairs checked the modem and saw that all the lights were properly lit and that includes the internet light which was solid green, it wasn't blinking or anything. I decided to unplug the power to the modem, waited a good 30 seconds, plugged it back in and I proceeded to regain my internet connectivity. I logged into the routers page, checked my MOCA levels and they were well above the acceptable level. Internet worked for a good 20 minutes before crapping out again. Went downstairs and checked the modem and again everything was normal and the internet light was solid green. Tried to log into the router page again and it wouldn't load at all again. I shut the modem down again, rebooted it and it started working again.
Now its been 3 hours and I have had the connection stop working a good 6 times overall. I am wondering if the router has suddenly begun to crap out on me and if I should just return it to the nearest verizon store and pick up a new one or if its something more than this? I say this because I DO NOT get the amber light nor does the light for the internet turn off, it stays green but doesn't flash like it usually does when its working and transmitting data back and forth.
