if all inbound connections are closed, why am I seeing remote connections coming int my uTorrent application?
Perhaps because the router has UPnP turned on, uTorrent has UPnP turned on, and your software firewall has UPnP turned on?
Thx, How do I turn UPnP off? What are the ramifications?

In the router go to Advanced.
In there, there should be something about Universal Plug and Play (UPnP).
Go there, and turn it off.

For one, with that off if you want to allow users from the Internet to connect through the router you must forward ports manually.
If you only have one public IP (and most people do) and you have more than system that supports UPnP where those systems do not allow you to define the ports that they use (ex game console-Xbox, PS3) good luck on getting NAT Type 2 (Open NAT) without the use of UPnP.
Please note: I have only read/heard that. I do not have more than system where I can not define the ports that the apps/systems use, that have support for UPnP.
