Networking with MoCA

I have a Verizon 9100EM router which is speced to have a MoCA interface on it. I would like to expand my ethernet network using a MoCA bridge switch. I would like to use the Channel Master CM-6004. Does anyone know if this unit will work with my Verixon 9100EM?

Based on a quick reading of the specs for both your router and the CM-6004, it appears that you will be able to extend your wired network with these components over your coax wiring. Unfortunately the only sure way to determine if this is the case is to try it.

Perhaps you already own the CM-6004 and are committed to it. If not, then consider the similar offerings from Actiontec:

The Actiontec product (EBC2200V) looks interesting. However it has only one ethernet port, and appears to be almost twice the cost of the Channel Master unit.

Be aware the Channelmaster unit is NOT MOCA certified.

FWIW, I'm using an EBC2200V with a 4 port switch and I get very good results. I basically see the same up and download speeds I get with devices that are connected to my Actiontec router via Ethernet cable.

edit: I've got the 75/35 FiOS plan and I speedtest.net at ~83/38 via Ethernet or the MoCA adapter.

Probably cheaper to just go to ebay and buy an Actiontec MI24WR
