OK, so tonight for the first time the marketing from Verizon FIOS has REALLY gone too far. In the middle of my TV viewing, a "box" pops up (at about the 1 o'clock position on the screen) trying to sell me the new "FIOS Quantum" service, and the box will not go away. The really aggravating thing is..........................I already have Quantum service. When I followed the instructions on the screen for how to order, the box went away, only to return a few seconds later. I tried repeatedly to get rid of it, but it was always back a few seconds later. WHEN I AM WATCHING TV THAT I AM PAYING GOOD MONEY FOR, I DON'T THINK I SHOULD HAVE TO PUT UP WITH MARKETING MESSAGES BEING DISPLAYED ON THE SCREEN! It's bad enough that I'm forced to look at a sales pitch every time I turn on the TV. At least that is easily cancelled by hitting the "exit" button, and then regular TV viewing can begin. The "pop-ups" in the middle of the show have got to go........NOW. How about it, people, am I right or what? It's like getting a telemarketing call in the middle of watching your favorite TV show...................only worse! At least the telemarketer you can hang up on.
