When are we getting FIOS?????

What is the big secret/mystery with FIOS? Why can't the people in the New Service Department give customers and idea of when FIOS will be available? Why is there not a map with neighborhoods listed and the projected installation schedule for neighborhoods. There needs to be information so that the customer can see if FIOS is on their block. Customers could pressure landlords to get FIOS installed in the buildings.

No one I have spoken to at Verizon seems to know anything about FIOS except to say, it's not available to you at this address, that's it......PRETTY LAME!!!

As for when service is available, in most areas FiOS expansion is done. If you're in New York City, there is a city-wide agreement in place still to get everyone wired up. It's a matter of when Verizon will do it, and that's something not even I have been able to get out of them. Verizon does have community pages where they sometimes announce availability, which you can likely find by using your Favorite Search engine and searching up your state or city.

In some cases, Verizon does pressure landlords for proper FiOS service. There's still the aspect of historical buildings wanting to be preserved, or holes being drilled into walls in order to get Fiber to the unit which some landlords won't allow. It's a multi-part problem.

Back when i ws waiting for Time Warner Cable to install High Speed Internet in New York City, they had a Colored Map that show areas of New York City, & the Map Showed each section & what Year/Quarter service would be available. With Verizon, there seems to be no information at all. All I know is, The Projects on 105th Street have Fios, & here I am on the Upper West Side, Still dreaming about it. I dont know who to be more angry at. The Mayor for forcing Verizon to wire the Project First, or for Verizon not having any Rollout Information available. *Angry Face* At the SLOW rate they seem to be rolling it out, I wont have Fios until the year 2020, it at all.
