Approved Routers for FiOS

I have my own Cisco 2901 router with gig-ethernet ports. Can I use this router to connect top the FiOS WAN side of the network?

Verizon currently only supports the Actiontec router. What you do in your home is up to you. Just be aware that some functions may not work correctly or at all.

If your doing Internet only. No TV. Then you can use that pretty easily. You may have to run your own ethernet and ask verizon to enable the ethernet port at the ont.

If your getting TV as well, you can do the same (just hang the actiontec off one of your cisco Lan ports. But it's recommended that you use the actiontec first. If you don't, Telcoguru is right some things may work some things may not (I. E. Remote dvr. Caller ID on TV The fios apps etc...)
