dvr wont work

I cant rewind. I cant record. Ive been using it to tape a cpl shows. It never went over 43% full. The last 3 weeks its been acting up. Me n my dad are upset about this. Hiw do we fix it. We unpluged it and that didnt do it. Oh and we get a black screen all the time while we watch tv and have to change the channel and then back. But cnt rewind what we missed.:(

Also, if you look on the STB under Customer Support you can try some of the STB options listed otherwise you should call the technical Support Group for help.
