Interesting stat. Do you think the average user will notice a difference between 2.7 and 2.2 MBPS????

As far as I can see, Verizon FiOS has been going up by slivers in speed each month, meanwhile the performance on DSL has been going way down. It drops in rankings because Netflix not only changed their ranking system, but because other ISPs are either losing customers, working to ensure network performance is more in check, or perhaps viewing methods are skewing results.
Considering the difference between 2.1Mbps and 2.7Mbps could mean a video streaming in an "OK" quality versus "absolute garbage" quality, all the more helps. Players which auto-select video quality are unforgiving, and it's part of the reason why I hate them.
"Netflix shifted their attention from 24/7 performance to average prime time streaming performance, causing Verizon FiOS to fall from fifth place to seventh place"
