Fios became available in my neighborhood last month. I was happy with Comcast, but agreed to switch over to Fios for the better Internet speeds. I clearly explained to the Verizon salesman that I will not pay a $50 activation fee to switch. He promised to waive this fee, so we signed up. Sure enough, I get the bill this week and guess what's on it? 16.70 for the 1/3 prorated activation fee. I call Verizon this morning and they tell me they have no indication of the fee waiver.
Seems like they're running the old bait and switch. I have to wonder how many others are falling for the same scam. Fortunately I'm within my 30 day trial period and will switch back to Comcast if the fee is not waived.
