I've been a Verizon FIOS customer for over 2 years now. It has been world's better than any other provider I've had to deal with. Unfortunately, I'm having some trouble. For the last three weeks or so, my internet speeds have been steadily decreasing. I say decreasing because I have a tendency to check my online speeds through, speedtest.net on a regular basis. I have 25/25 service because I typically work from home. I move alot of files back and forth from home to work, sometimes GBs of data on a daily basis. Unfortunately, my speeds are now at a point where I can't work from home any more. My most recent test result has shown a ping (College Park, MD to Reston, VA) of 781ms, a download speed of 0.3 mbps and an upload of 0.08 mpbs. Now I realize speedtest.net might not be the most reliable, but its what I've been using consistently for the last two years. It's given me close (sometimes slightly higher) to 25/25 and I've been exstatic. Why now all the sudden would my connection speed move to a crawl? I've had no changes in my network setup. Same router, same everything.
I've tried using the Verizon speed optimizer, resetting and unplugging, etc with no luck. My next step is to call Tech Support but I thought if there was anything else I could check first, I'd do this. Thanks in advance for your help.
