DO NOT GO WITH VERIZON FIOS

Verizon FIOS is not a good product. Because of the fiber lines, sometimes the picture skips. After the initial installment, the amount that Verizon charges on a monthly basis fluctuate. Verizon will charge you what they want. You will almost never get two bills of the same price. One time I was charged almost $200.00 for just general cable. Anyway, I went back to DirecTV. Please, do not use Verizon FIOS.

Sorry to hear you feel this way. I've been a Verizon double play (Internet, TV) customer for a little over a year now and my TV Picture is amazing and my bill has been the same each month.

No complaints from this side of the screen.

I agree and their customer service is almost non-existent. I will be going back to my former cable company. Switching to Fios was a big mistake !

Fiber optics is highly over-rated... and if you really think fiber optics is hot stuff, you should wonder, "What do I know about electronics?"

You want reliable you go with electrical, if you have the option... Cable TV service providers offer the best quality TV and internet service.... and phone service if you don't mind using Voice Over IP (VOIP)... but you have the option of using cellphones tie you down to a cable, so it's not a big deal right. Verizon needs to look at turning themselves from a phone company into an ISP, land lines are fading and they need to plan out what they want to use it for... which leaves only DSL, high speed DSL to compete with cable operators.

I would get FiOS... if it was even available in my area... Verizon dug up dirt to install new lines right through our farm, but didn't bother to install any equipment to use it. I mean they did all that work and ended up bypassing our farm. I mean what the hell? I can't even get 56K dial up speed... I get like 33.6 - 40Kbps dialup with V.92 modem. Yes my ISP uses at least V.90 modems. What the heck are they doing with the money the FCC is allocating to bring broadband to rural areas? They install new lines to bypass rural farmlands? That's their idea of bringing broadband to rural areas?!?

I'm left using Verizon Mobile Broadband which advertises up to 1.4Mbps... and they only let you do that for a few months or so to full fill the advertising promise before they drop you down to 170Kbps, that's right Kbps. And it drops connections quite frequently... and I have to dish out $60.07 a month ($59.99 + tax/surcharge) with a 5GB/month cap... that''s like 2.5-6x the cost of DSL for the fraction of the bandwidth and without the cap.

I agree 100%! How did you cancel? Did you have to pay an ETF? I'll just say I'm having similar problems and would like to know if you were able to cancel according to their "Worry Free Guarantee" without paying an early termination fee.
