Box is continuously counting down numbers

I tried turning my TV on and I keep getting a continuous count down on my box and no picture. The number has an "r" in front of it and its a three digit numbers. I turned the box off and disconnected a wire that turned the box off. Nothing seems to be resolving this problem. Any suggestions?

Turning the STB or disconnecting "a wire" will not reset it. Try unplugging the STB for 20 seconds and then plug it back in. That should reset it unless there is a bigger issue than just a "confused" box.
