. . .only one type of cable card now, the M card. you can get it at some verizon plus stores or you can call customer service to have it shipped to you. Older equipment sometimes uses S cards, but those are really out of date . Any recent model TiVo or cable card reader should normally work with cable card.
I picked mine up at my local FiOS store. It's really the only way to make sure you get the correct model, as I needed a specific one for a Tivo.
