My home was recently robbed while I was there and as a result was forced to move for my safety. Since I had to move on such a short notice, we had to take whatever apartment was available and they did not offer Verizon Fios as an option for cable services. I called Verizon and explained the who situation to them and explained that they took everything and I really did not have the money to pay the $350.00 early termination fee that they were forcing me to pay and asked them to waive it due to the circumstances and they would not waive the fee or even set me up on a payment plan.
I have only been a customer with them for a year, but in that time we have cable, internet, home phone, and wireless. We have never been late on or missed a payment so you would think that they would be willing to work with us due to the circumstances. Nope. I spoke with a supervisor and a manager and they would not help us AT ALL. It's very unfortunate because you would think companies would have a little more compassion, but a lesson learned.
Once my wireless contract is up, I will be switching to another provider, so new customers be aware. They will do whatever they can to get you in and make you think that they are all about customer service until you need them to help you out in return. It's sucks to have to learn this way, but I just want to warn all new subscribers, just know what type of company you are dealing with. DON'T USE VERIZON, THEY ARE NOT HERE TO HELP YOU!!!!
