I reluctantly switched to Verizon from Nextel ... and the sales staff assured me that there was full coverage in Redding, Ridgefield and Georgetown. Of course, after the fact, and after purchasing a new Blackberry, I discover that there is ZERO coverage from Verizon in that area. Everyone that I know who is a Verizon subscriber has also reported marginal, at best, coverage. So, basically, Verizon lied to me to get my business.
Yes, the coverage maps all show that there is full service, but in reality, there is not. It is one of the most densely populated areas in the country, and still, there are no Verizon towers to be found. It is a well known wireless "dead zone" ... and yet, Verizon claims to have full coverage.
