Chromecast experience is awful on Fios

I was able to install my chromecast and get it working with no issues. Eventually when you turn the tv on it will say it is connected but when to try to cast no devices are found. It will do this until you reboot the verizon router. I'm sick of doing this. Does anyone have a fix? I should also mention I have 2 chromecasts and they both work, then don't work after an unspecified amount of time.

Do you have more than 1 subnet?

Mine will do that if they connect to the wrong subnet - I have cascaed subnets off the fios router.
