Online bill payment changes

Through last month when I paid my bill online it was simple. Just fill in the information, click make payment and bang bill paid. Starting this month you must now "schedule a payment". There is a disclaimer that it may take 3-4 days for the paid to be processed.

What advantage is the new system to Verizon (certainly does nothing for me)?

While you can "schedule" a payment, you don't need to ... if you're using a bank draft, the default date for the payment is today and you can simply click the "Use Account" button on the screen to process a payment. If you want to use a credit card, click on that option and the "schedule a payment" option goes away because it's always made the same day.

I'm not thinking I'm seeing what's behaving differently.

Where can I go to see my Scheduled payments and then cancel them? All I ever seem to be able to see is the history which only tells me what payments have already cleared. I need to cancel a payment and I can't find it now with this new web "improvement".

Then select payment / make a payment.

It should show you the accounts used for payment, and allow you to delete the account. If it is not listed they should not draw from it.

Autopay is under the same account dropdown menu, but since I do not have autopay, I am not sure if it can be modified there. It only gave me the option to setup autopay.

It may let you cancel a scheduled payment if it has not been processed. But not for autopay.

If this does not help, you may need to contact Verizon directly for account management through the billing department, as painful as it may be.
