Porting my verizon email address

I have moved to a smart neighborhood that uses a proprietary internet, phone, and tv service, therefore I have to drop all my verizon services. But when I connected my computer to the internet at the new house I immediately started receiving verizon email in my windows mail.

What I found out is that I have not shut off my old Verizon high speed internet services at my old house so I will continue to received Verizon email at my new address.

Questions:

1. How can I cut off my old Verizon service but still keep my Verizon email address that I have had for about 10 years? I heard about "permanent domain" but I am not sure what this is or how it works.

2. Is permanent domain only good for getting email at the Verizon Webmail site or will I still be able to receive my email in Windows Mail or Outlook?

When you order it, link it to your existing verizon.net account. As long as it's set up correctly, your verizon.net email should continue to function exactly the same way it does now as long as you continue the service. (Meaning you can check it via an email client.)

I would recommend that you order that service and verify that it is working FIRST, then cancel your old internet services. (Much easier to get support if you have normal services.)
