Clearer picture after pausing and playing

my question is when I am watching a program, then pause it, then come back to watch it my Samsung qled looks like a 4K tv which it is. The picture is outstanding almost 3D When I switch back to live tv the picture looses a lot of clarity. This is Not the new “one” hd DVR box. Help anyone?

Others have noted that using the non 4K STB doesn't always give the best picture quality. You can try adjusting some of the settings, but it may be best to upgrade to the newer 4K box.

Not sure if it works this way, but it may be buffering some of the programming when you pause, then resume giving you better picture quality vs live video coming down the pipe. Again that's a shot in the dark.
