Emergency Alert System going off every single day

Why is it necessary for the Emergency Alert System to interrupt my TV viewing every single day? I keep seeing that Verizon has no control over it, but that can't be true. I had DirecTV and Comcast for years and years before switching to FiOS and never had this issue. It says it's a monthly test but it goes off every night. Please explain.

Is it one particular station or is it system wide? If it's system wide, then you should talk to Fios support about it. If it's a particular station, that is their problem. Contact the broadcaster and let them know you are less than happy.
