Man have I been through the ringer with my new FIOS and Verizon. I was told by the FIOS sales people that every thing would be the same or better is I switched from Comcast to FIOS and cheaper. I showed them my Comcast bill that had their services to me on it and Verizon confirmned that they couls provide the same services and better. I ntallatio was great, except tha the HD boxes do not have a display and the remotes would not work the surround sound. I had to buy a remote that would that Verizon credited me. The boxes are another story. I was told that display HD boxes are not available, after being told they where by the sales men and the pictures on the web site. After almost a week on and off the phone with Verizon customer service I had an appointmet for this afternoon, 1 to 5 for installation. Got a text this @ 8 from them saying I'm on for today. Got another at noon saying tech on the way. Got another at 1:30 saying work complete. WHAT? No one was here. Called Verizon asking what's up[. After 2 and a half hours on the phone on a day I took off from work to be here for a the install I'm now told that they have no idea who texted me, even after I gave them the number of the text call and that maybe if I drive 40 miles one way to a FIOS retail store that maybe they would have a HD box used at that, that I might swap with them and then be honored to install the box myself!!
To say I'm not pleased is an undestatement. I lost a half day of work, spent hours on the phone with these people and was quit frankly lied to.
So be advised. The remote they give you will NOT work your surround sound. Your HD box will NOT have a display that shows the chanel or time or anythig for that matter. You will be told ANYTHING to get you off the line even to the point of setting up bogas appointments for installations that they can not or will not provide
Comcast dosen't look that bad right about now and I truly dislaiked Comcast
