Moving to a place that Verizon apparently doesn't offer Internet service to?

Hi all, long time lurker, first time poster. 😃

I'm moving to a different part of town at the beginning of next month. According to the Moving wizard, only Phone and DirecTV are available to me. Right now, I have all three services in a Triple Play bundle.

Here are my questions:

1.) Since I'm being forced to change my package against my will, do I still have to pay penalties for 'changing' or 'downgrading' my service?

2.) When when when will FIOS be offered to us lowly peons in the District of Columbia?

Any help at all on these two points would be greatly appreciated. 😃

I have the same exact situation, and I was told too bad, you're paying the early termination fee. Also, the DSL available at my new home is slow, almost comparable to dial up. The home is newly constructed, and all of the equipment and wiring was installed by professionals, so it has to be the actual service.
