Automatic Payment Date versus Due Date

Why is it that when you sign up for automatic payment from a bank account, as I just did, the money is deducted from the account 20 days before the due date?

Is there a reason besides the one that Verizon wants to collect an extra two weeks of interest on my payment to which they are not really entitled?

I'm sorry you're having trouble with your auto-payment. Have you asked someone from customer service to take a look at it for you to make sure the dates are actually correct?

No other autopay vendor does this!!

Is Verizon trying to make free interest income from millions of customer payments for 10-20 days???

It is no big deal for a customer, but it is principally wrong.

I have called customer center, who always transfer me to financials - never got it resolved.

Everytime they say "we will research and get back within the next two days"

It has been months. The latest was call was on 5 July, and I am still waiting!

Is this called great customer swervice!!
