Terrible service

My phone has been out since Wed.August 3,due to a road crew apparantly cutting a cable up the street from me. My whole block was affected but when you call customer service to report the problem they treat you like an idiot. I explicitly told the CSR that I was 99.99% sure it was a cut cable,but they do not want to listen. They run a "test" and tell me the problem is in my inside wiring. When I mention the fact that the entire block also has no service I'm still told the problem is only in my house.Only after I tell her that there is no dial tone at the NCI box does she believe me. I'm then told that unless six people call that they will not be out until Friday. When my next door neighbor calls he is told that unless twenty people call they will fix his problem on Saturday. So Friday comes and a tech calls me and tells me that yes indeed the cable is cut up the street and that it will be repaired in the afternoon. I get a text in the afternoon telling me the problem is fixed. Well when I get home there still is no phone service. So I call again only to be told that the problem is fixed and that the problem is again in my house. After talking to three people I'm finally told the truth,the wire is still cut and will not be repaired until today. I had known all along about the strike possibility and I made this known to the CSR,apparantly to no avail as I was told that they still would not be out to fix it until today. Well Saturday morning comes around and there are two Verizon trucks up the street fixing the problem,or so I thought. The trucks left but I still have no phone service. Well at this point I figured that I'm out of luck until the strike is settled.This afternoon I get a call from someone with terrible cell service telling me that repairs will be made today. I thought it was strange to get this call from a company whose only qualified people are on strike,well I was right,I still have no phone service. Why does Verizon have to lie to people? The biggest lie is the "test" from the call center.There is no such thing and I find it offensive that a company would have their employees read off of a script telling "customers" that the problem is in their house when no such test is possible? No wonder people are getting rid of their land lines.Im planning on dropping my phone line and only keeping DSL but I'm sure I'll get screwed there somehow also.
