I am new to posting on this forum/ message board, but have to as a last resource. I have been trying to contact someone in customer service that could help me and have attempted many times( spoke to a total of 13 different people from customer service to the "finance dept") and still no resoulution!
I was trying to ADD a wireless service ( former AT&T iphone cust) to my Verizon Fios account while at the Verizon Wireless Store( July2011) and was told by a cust serv rep that I have an unpaid balance of $300 for early termination fee from previous Fios account. So I was denied service & unable to set up under my name, but the sales rep was able to put under my wife's name/account( anyway to make a "sell"). This still does not solve my situtation with having an unpaid balance on an old account which I believe to be a frivilous charge.
When I was able to re-establish a new Fios account by paying ALL past due amounts on my previous account and was told by the Verizon Fios Rep at the time, I was a "win-back" customer and was set up with a new account (October 2010). To this day when trying to ADD services I have never received a bill for this early termination fees or contacted in any way of these charges.
I was then told later that the charges posted on the "old" account( Nov 2010) after my "new" account was set-up in Oct 2010.
I now found out that this unpaid balance is on my credit report and was supposedly sent to a collection agency. Again to this present day Aug 15th 2011, I have never been contacted by anyone from Verizon or a Collection agency for these charges! How can I to dispute this and get eliminated from my account & credit report!
I just doesn't seem right for a Verizon Rep to tell me when re-signing up for a "new" account that everything is "settled" and "taken care of" and never even knowing about these charges! I guess you can be told "anything" for a SALE!!!
If anyone could assist & better yet help me resolve this problem, I would really like to get these charges taken off my account and credit report so I can finally add an iphone to my wireless account!!! I really am trying to stay with Verizon Fios and Verizon Wireless if i can get this resolved!!!
