This isn't just a one time experience, it's always this way: MyVerizon.com and other associated websites always run extremely slow. It's not me, other websites run normally. It took a minute for the main MyVerizon.com site to come up on my Internet Exporer, and most other pages typically can take up to half a minute or more.
Yesterday morning while at work, I got a call from Verizon, at least I think I did: the line was so staticy when I played it back as to make the message unlistenable. That it was Verizon was confirmed the next morning when I got the same call; still lots of static but not as bad, and I could understand that they needed more information on a recent service change and to call 1-800-VERIZON.
So I did, and this line was also statiticy, so much so that when I hit "1" to confirm I was calling about my phone number the auto-voice dictated to me, it failed to understand the signal. At first I thought maybe I responded too quickly, before the end of the message, but no... I gave up after several such failures.
So then I considered using my Verizon cellphone to see if I could get a better connection, but who was I kidding? I had recently moved to Medfield, MA, and the cell connection here is HORRENDOUS! I found one spot in the house at my back windows which sometimes gets me a signal, but if I dare turn my head 90% during a conversation, I often lose the service. My landlord confirms that Verizon cell service is bad here, and that most people living around here use AT&T for that reason.
Medfield is not Boston, but it's not out in the boonies either. My home is a mere 10 miles from Gillette Stadium, home of the New England Patriots.
What on earth kind of message does Verizon think they are sending it's customers with such poor service? When I sit there at my PC waiting for the website to drag itself up into my Explorer, I pause to think "This is the company that is providing my Internet, and they can't even get it right for themselves?" The company that brags about the best nationwide cell coverage, and I can't get good service a mere 25 miles outside of Boston? Who's telephone connections are so bad it couldn't decipher me dialing a 1 on their automated voice system?
I would not expect anything that a topflight website experience from a supposedly world class communications company. But it's just not happening. How can I expect this company to provide little o' me with a reasonable service?
I am so disappointed. HELLO? CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?
