IR Extender to IR in on Arris IPC1100

I have a remote IR Extender that allowed me to operate the Motorola QIP m7100. However with the new Arris IPC1100 I cant seem to get it to work (Cant find were to place the remote IR Emitter end on the front of the IPC 1100).

I notced that there is an IR In port in the back but the recommended external adapter (http://www.smarthome.com/xantech-28ext-emitter-external-adapter.html ) doesnt seem to be available.

Is there a location on the front panel of the IPC1100 that I should put the IR emitter or doesnt anyone know where to get the extender? Or any other Ideas ....

Did you ever get the Arris boxes working with the xantech 78944? I'm having the same issue. Repeater works with my audio receiver and other equipment but not with the fios box.
