I agree that would be nice, but so far I have not been able to find any way to do it, and I have pretty much pressed every key on the remote.
Two things:
1) The Rewind has multiple speeds, so make sure you press it enough times to get the rewind speed up to 8X, makes it a little more tolerable.
2) Or you can press the Rec key to begin recording, it will include everything that you could have rewound to. Then hit DVR, find the active recording, and begin watching it, it will start back wherever the buffer started.
Not solutions, but maybe a little help.
