Delay when setting up a recording

New to Quantum, and mostly working well, but I'm noticing a long delay when setting up a recording. From the guide, I press the record button. It takes almost 10 seconds for the 'recording' icon to show up. In the meantime, I cannot do anything else. If I press record again to make a series recording, it is another delay. Now, I understand that 20-30 seconds is not a lot of time, but before Quantum, this was instant. I have also noticed a delay when playing a recording.

I am also seeing long delays in starting a recording and playing a recorded program. I have had Quantum for several months and these delays recently appeared. My guess is that they made some software upgrade at their end that screwed things up. If you have a few hundred hours of time to waste, you might try reporting the problem to their support people.
