I just had an interesting situation - both of my FIOS set-top boxes were displaying what appeared to be random numbers that changed every few seconds. The problem cleared up on it's own after a few minutes. I didn't attempt to turn on the TVs during that time so I don't know if the TV service was affected, but I assume it was. Internet service worked fine, although perhaps a bit sluggish. I hadn't cycled the power on either set-topbox, nor had the house had any sort of power interruption.
What would cause this to occur? An update to the set-top boxes, perhaps?
