Motorola QIP6416-2 Constant Reboot

Posting here because chat isn't available and my phone battery is dead at the moment.

For 40 seconds, there will be a blank display on this STB, then for 9 seconds I get 4 8s across the display. Wash, rinse, repeat. No response using the remote or the buttons on the front of the STB.

Rebooting the router and STB causes no change to the condition.

Wireless internet works without issue both before and after router reboot.

Please assist.

The STB needs to be replaced. I bet the fan is constantly running also.

You have an old stb. Call them up and tell them yours is always rebooting and you want to upgrade to a newer one. I believe they are still giving free upgrades for the old boxes plus yours is already faulty so should be no issues there. The old boxes cant support mpeg4 compression.
