Backup and Sharing doesn't seem to want to work on my Mac

Hi there;

I've got a fairly new macbook pro (with 10.7.3 OS), I've downloaded the mac .dmg file, opened, and installed it. I have the red icon at the top of my desktop, but for some reason, it won't let me sign on using my verizon username and password. I've restarted my computer after installation, re-installed, and nothing changed; I still can't sign in to add files to back up.

Using the same credentials, are you able to login to the account at www.verizon.com ?
