My neighborhood lost FIOS service due to a squirrel crewing through the cable. The tech came out Wednesday evening and found the problem and promised a a full crew (7 persons) the next morning to replace the main cable. Sure enough the trucks arrived and worked throughout the day replacing the cable. I went out back about 5:30p to ask the techs who were splicing the strands to check on the progress. They said within the hour everybody would be back up with FIOS service. At 6:30 the last of the crew left and my neighbor told me we all were back up. It turned out everybody but me. I called and was placed on hold for 30 minutes, so I logged a service call online and read the repair would be complete by 12:30 am. I woke up Friday morning at 6 with No service, I called again twice from my cell phone and was on hold for another 30 minutes. After 7a I got a live rep who told me that the problem was at the Hub and not the connection at the pole. They were working on it. The repair would be made by 4:30p. At 4:30 no repair was made and I called again, gave up and went to the on line agent. I was told the outage was repaired the problem must be in my house.?? They even had a supervisor call and walk us how to manually reboot the system. NO LUCK! So a tech was scheduled to come out Sunday. Sunday came and went, no tech. I called Monday morning and finally got someone on the phone. I pleaded my case, explaining everybody had service restored but me 5 days ago. I understand the Sunday service call was cancelled because the outage was fixed and open calls were cleared. The tech did out in a couple of hours Monday morning and had the repair complete in 5 minutes. The techs who replaced the main cable on Thursday disconnected my line and NEVER reattached it.
I HAD NO SERVICE BECAUSE I WAS NOT RECONNECTED AT THE POLE!!! All the excuses, all the phone calls and online requests, and wasted time for some SIMPLE oversite. WHY did it take 96 HOURS for Verizon to finally reconnect me??
A couple weeks ago I was prepared to renew my contract, sure glad I didn't!
