To make a long story short; after having to make a new user id for my aging and soon to be replaced computer, it asked me to input my internet password at a certain time while browsing the web and using some software I had not used yet. I did so without thinking about it.. After a few hours, I started to wonder about that incident; could it have been phishing software? So just to be on the safe side, I thought it best to change my verizon account password. After doing so, there is a screen that says that you will be contacted shortly about your change; which makes me think that I will get a confirmation e-mail. I do not get one. I contact a rep via chat and ask if I should have gotten a confirmation e-mail after changing my password. He says, "Yes." So we go through changing my password twice more, looking for an e-mail to come, which it never does. My session ended with him rebooting my computer and losing the session. I call on the phone and get a real live person. He tells me that you do not get a confirmation e-mail when changing your password. Now I'm really confused! My biggest worry is that someone already hacked into my account and is getting notifications of all the changes I'm making to my passwords that I should be getting.
Can someone put this to rest: Does verizon send you a confirmation e-mail after changing your password? Is my account secure?
