I ordered Verizon's top-of-the-line FIOS Triple Play (Ultimate HDTV, 35/35 Internet, Digital Voice) bundle in January. The service charge agreement was $117.99 per month for the first 12 months which included a $20 discount for multi-room DVR. It also advertised a $500 Visa gift card which is why I originally placed the order. I called Verizon customer service when it didn't arrive after 3 months as promised and they told me it wasn't included with the $20 DVR discount, but that was not explained during the online order. Please understand I’m NOT asking Verizon to honor both offers. I asked to remove the current DVR discount (12 months X $20 = $240) in lieu of the $500 Visa Card and I will pay back the past 3 months of discounts. Their system stated the following when I placed the order: “Best offer will be applied to your order.” Clearly the best offer was the Visa Card and I’m only asking Verizon honor that promise, but they refused even when I showed them copies of my online confirmation. This is classic bait and switch.
I'm also a long time Verizon wireless (family plan) customer and my 2 year contract is almost up. If this is the way they treat their best customers I'll switch to AT&T and Comcast.
