Home phone change.

I would like to change my home phone to one that disallows long distance calling. Can I still get caller ID and call waiting? What is the lowest cost phone service? We are a retired couple living on a fixed income and need to reduce the cost of phone service.

I recently ordered an IPhone and plan to use it for long distance calling with Verizon.
