I live less tha 1/2 mile away from a Verizon phone 'office' (a large unmanned building which connects calls in my neighborhood), which has been served by a fiber optic cable for several years now. I'm curious why Verizon won't offer dsl service in my neighborhood? Neighbors a couple miles away live much farther from their 'office' (6 miles or more), yet they have dsl access. The population density is identical in both neighborhoods.
