Ethernet or wireless

I can connect to my router via Ethernet cable or wireless adapter.

If I disable my wireless adapter, and connect via cable, will that preclude any chance of anyone "eavesdropping" or trying to crack my code?

In other words, while I'm connected via cable, are there any radio transmissions going in/out ?

Radio Enabled: Yes

ESSID Broadcast: Disabled

MAC Authentication: Enabled

To answer your question there are no radio transmissions in or out when hard wired to the router with ethernet cable. I would do as the other poster stated and disabled the wireless on the router also.

You should be able to go to the admin interface (for your router, usually something like http://192.168.1.1) and turn off "wireless".

If you're successful, you should see something like "radio: disabled"

So then Ethernet is more secure, (as I suspected). Then, I'll plan on using Ethernet as much as possible, but of course occasionally use wireless as necessary for my "outback" computer (where I don't have a long enough cable).
