OK, here's the setup.
I am trying to pull in Sardegna Radio. The stream address is:
http://s8.mediastreaming.it:7080/From my work computer, it comes in loud and strong. When I plug the
URL into Firefox, I get a "Shoutcast status" page that confirms this.
But it's not working from any of my home computers, or, crucially, the
Linksys box. All I see is "Server has timed out" or some such. There is no "Firewall has blocked XXX" as the software firewalls offer.
Each computer has a software firewall. On the Win2K box, I've tried
stopping the firewall and still no joy. The only common thing between the machines (separate3 OS and software firewalls) is the Westell 327w modem/router.
I wonder if the Westell Verizon DSL modem/router is blocking it in the
"hardware firewall" it claims to have.

I'm looking in the Modem/router manual, and it's not very helpful. Nor was either
www.westell.com or the Verizon site.
