need to hook up telephone

I recently got verizon internet and I plugged the modem into the jack in the kitchen as that is the main phone line. Now I have no telephone and no jack to plug it into and on top of that a lot of times my modem is blinking. Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated.

Did you get a package where its supposed to include Phone and Internet? Did you get FIOS or DSL?

I got a package with the modem in it and 4 filters. I have a DSL. Thanks for being interested.

So you should continue to use your phone as you did prior to getting DSL except each phone line needs to have one of the filters added to it. It will be placed on the jack between the wall and the phone. From an empty wall jack you will then connect the phone line from the wall into the modem without the filter.

The filter is used to remove the DSL signal from the phone line. If you don't use the filter on all your phone lines you could cause your internet to be unstable.
