As for the Westell 7500 upgrade, the best Verizon has right now for DSL is the ActionTec GT784WNV. That's the current model gateway which is being handed out. You might get a D-Link unit, but I haven't heard the greatest of things about them.
Pretty much, if you don't have a need for Wireless N, your Westell 7500 should serve you just fine.
