I just signed up for high speed internet service.
i would like to access the internet from any of the computers in my house.

When Verizon installs your FiOS they will also install a wireless router. This wireless router also has 4 ports for wired ethernet cables. If your computers have wireless compatibility (most laptops do), you will be able to connect them to the network and be on your way. If they don't have wireless capability, you can either install wireless or network (ethernet) cards into the computers and connect them to your network.

To my knowledge, Verizon is currently installing only the M1424WR router. You can create a 'wired' network by connecting your peripherals to the yellow LAN ports on the back of the router. If you have a different router, the colors would probably be different, but the idea is the same. It's really very unusual for a router to have only one LAN port.
