Some of our neighbors have faster internet than us but verizon won't give us above 3Mbps. When we first signed up a month ago we were paying for the 3Mbps and only getting .5Mbps. After calling and talking to people for hours (three weeks) they finally put us through to a Tier 2 IT person who switched us to a different circuit or sever. Now we're getting what we pay for but we use more than one computer and 3Mbps isn't enough. Several of our neighbors are paying more and getting from 7-15 Mbps. However, every time we call Verizon they just give us the run around. How could it be legal for them to offer our neighbors faster internet but refuse us? The tier 2 IT person my husband spoke with told us that our lines can handle 10Mbps, and that we were close enough to a hub for them to give us at least 7Mbps. They also told us when we call billing to ask to speak with a supervisor. We have tried this and they actually get rude and refuse to put us through to someone different. Is there anything we can do? I feel like i was basically taken for my money last month because I paid out $113 and didn't even have the service I paid for for 3 of the 4 weeks. If the IT people say our line is good enough why won't billing give us faster internet considering most of our neighbors go through Verizon for DSL and are getting higher speeds?
