I am NATTED my IP address is 192.168.0.0. to 192.168.255.255. The modem only has 1 LAN port. I'm not sure what u mean by is there any between the Westell 6100 and my computer, but the phone line is also connect to a brother all-in-machine.
YES, YOU CAN BUT YOU WILL HAVE TO PAY EXTRA FOR IT.
How do you clone your MAC address for your ethernet card inside the 6100 modem/router combo? I have to Bridge my DHCP just to be able to stay online without being disconnected every 2 hours when the DHCP lease expires. Will buying a different modem help. Currently I only have one computer connected to the internet. I want to attempt to add to the network, but until the link to the ethernet problem is resolved I cannot proceed further. I have bypassed the 192.168.1.1 address and am connected directly to my Intel 10/100 Fast ethernet card 82562V on the PCI slot.
The standard interface connection will disconnect in 2 hours if I connect the way that Verizon tells you to do it though the NAT combo modem.
Does anyone know of another modem to purchase that isn't so complicated and won't drop connections? Is the CM100 Linksys - USB/Ethernet External Cable Modem compatible with Verizon? I need a resolution to this problem as soon as possible as I cannot lose my link the way the Westell 6100 does. I want a pain free internet connection. I have lost countless hours of time over this.
You can request an actiontech GT704WG but it will not support anything but your laptop. You have to purchase a westell 327w to get connected to anything eles. I'm going through simalir to you. I have an actiontech GT704WG it will not support my Tintendo wii station, I have to purchase a westell 327w to do so. it is compatable with verizon. Verizon cannot send me one I have to purchase it through a vender. Verizon advised me that Best Buy carries them but they don't. Good luck, hope this answers your question. I cannot find one, does anyone have a suggestion?
Are you sure Best Buy doesn't carry them? Try this LINK
Best Buy does carrry the Actiontech Modem for Verizon. My problem is I am not trying to network anything at this point I just want ONE PC to connect correctly. The 6100 cannot do this correctly on a DHCP server. I'm not sure if that modem will correct my problems or not, Verizon tech support connot answer that question. I am on the phone witrh them as I am typing this post and they can't find the answers sending another tech support person to my house. Been having this issue for four years. People in the area have the same problem with the modem disconnecting from the DHCP server too.
