Need a DSLAM profile reset

Hi,

I'm hopping there is some one here that understands what that means.

I had an inside wiring fault that is now fixed, but it has caused my DSL speed to get stuck at 2112kbps.

I eliminated the inside wiring to see if the modem would sync back to the 3000kbps I had, but no luck.

So it looks like my profile has been reduced to 2112kbps.

Trans stats are 2112/864 with a Attenuation 44db, and Noise margin of 28db.

3000kbps is doable with those stats, and I had those for 10 years.

If this could recover on it's own please spill the details 😉

PS: a little extra speed would be wonderful, the Modem is a Westel 327W and might sync at 5M since my line is clean.

I believe this has to be addressed by someone at your Central Office. If you can get this issue reported directly via email or called in; try to talk to upper level support.

If you have any trouble getting your speed turned back up, to either 3M or 5M, let me know. I'll get you to someone who can fix this. In addition, when you speak to Verizon, make sure you specifically ask to have the ASSIA Optimizer disabled.

I'll call verizon support and see what happens.

On the same subject, I looked at my transceiver stats this morning and the Margin was 10.0 db. After reseting the modem it went back up to 28. This is the only time I had seen the 10db. and the Trans mit power is the same

I can only think of outside interference that would cause this, unless the DSLAM did something on its own over night.

I may run a CAT6 home run just to be ready for an upgrade.

Based on what I've seen, it seems to run almost nightly.

If you're seeing your margin drop down to 10dB, see if the modem slowly inches it's way to that level over time. You mght be seeing a sag, which does happen, but shouldn't happen to the extreme that you're seeing it.

I gave Verizon support a call, and spoke with Carlos in Costarica.

He was pretty good, knew what the ASSIA optimizer was or pickup on it pretty quickly.

Reset the line, still got 2112, then turned off the ASSIA and reset the line and then got 3360.

Thanks for the ASSIA pointer, seems that was the problem or cause.

Well see how this holds up, but it looks good no IN or OUT Errors in the modem connection stats at the moment.
