Internet Connection Constantly Interrupted

Is anyone else experiencing constant interruption of internet service?

I am enrolled in online classes and when the internet is interrupted during an exam, I have to call the teacher and have them reset it. Some of them won't do it, and I end up with a bad grade because of my internet connection. Grrrrr....

Every time the connection is lost, which is often, I call Verizon. I get an automated machine who tells me too many callers are trying to get live help and call back later. I have called about 10 times.

My boyfriend has Comcast and says he never experiences interruptions. I've had Verizon for years now and don't want to change providers, but I have been very aggravated lately and might consider.

my service is also constantly going off so I cannot connect or lose connection. I was going to school online as well. I called verizon and they told me it could be my outside connection .. Not.. my suggestion is to get on comcast or get a dsl that plugs into your computer.. otherwise you may find yourself having to go to the library and use computers.. Very inconvenient and why do I pay for such a bad connection?

To both of you, if you want help..

Step one: Visit http://www.giganews.com/line_info.html and post up the Traceroute the page shows, if you wish. Be aware that your non-bogan public IP Address will show up. It might shown up as the final hop (bottom-most line of the trace) might contain a hop with your IP address in it. Either remove that line or show only the first two octets. What I'm looking for is a line that mentions "ERX" in it's name towards the end. If for some reason the trace does not complete (two lines full of Stars), keep the trace route intact.

Bell atlantic was great for service,then along came verizon. I've been waiting for 2 years to get a problem on a pole outside my house to get fixed for 2 years. It rains and no service. Comcast has the worst customer service of any company i have ever dealt with. when i turned in my box and they asked why i was cancelling i said NO customer service and everyone claped and that meant everyone that stood in line for 45minutes. At least with verizon you get to speak to some one without being on hold for over 2 hours.
