Verizon DSL After a Re-Format----Without the Install CD

Hi,

I've been online with Verizon DSL for over a year.

I need to re-format my hard drive and re-install my operating system (XP). I lost my Verizon install CD, so will I be able to use the Internet and sign on with Verizon without the Verizon CD---once my PC is restored to factory settings? Thanks.

Yes, you can absolutely connect to the internet without the install CD. Verizon DSL and FiOS should both be plug-and-play, meaning you plug it into your computer and you're good to go. You will need to make sure that you have the drivers installed for your network card, but those aren't on any Verizon CD. 😉

Anything that can be done through the install CD can be done manually, so even if you do have problems tech support should be able to walk you through it.

Thanks for the reply; I was concerned I'd wipe the hard drive and then find out I would have to wait for UPS to deliver another install Verizon CD before being able to get online.

I reformatted 3 times now and I didn't install the Verizon CD the last time, all that the CD seems to have on it is the Verizon propoganda and the useless Verizon Support Center that was only good for slowing my PC down. I found there was nothing on it to install the modem. The reinstall did not affect my modem at all.
