I'm trying to fix an error on my part with Backup Assistant.
I have an old LG Dare that contains all my contacts. It was successfully running what I've come to find out is an old version of BA (gee, thanks for the notice that it was out of date, VZW...).
When switching to a new Dare (broke the micro USB port on the old one) I did not opt to "backup now" because, foolishly, I assumed the BA I had always had was functioning as it was supposed to. Yes, I know this was a mistake.
Upon activating the new Dare I downloaded BA and, going through the motions, hit "sync" or "restore" or whatever came up, expecting to download all my old contacts. Then I waited for my contacts to update. "Successfully updated 3/3 contacts." Of course these are the default support, balance inquiry, or whatever they are * numbers that are preloaded. Turns out I overwrote my old backup with a completely blank contact list from the new phone. I'm guessing this has to do with the new BA version not recognizing an old backup or whatever.
I do know, however, that my old dare had backed up my contacts at various points in the past. I've logged in and seen them before, and used BA in the past. So it's not simply a case of never having backed up.
The old Dare still has all the contacts, but reactivating its ESN and downloading the new BA in an attempt to upload my contacts only gives me the option to "restore" to that phone - which I'm guessing will overwrite to 0 contacts again.
Any idea how I can force BA to recognize the old phone as the base point for BA's backup?
Thanks in advance!
